Positions and Job Descriptions  

 

President and Vice President

 

The President and Vice President responsibilities are to organize bi-quarterly board meetings and take minutes at these meetings. They will also follow up with volunteers and jobs discussed during the meeting.

 

 

Shabbat Chair (2 Positions Available)

 

The Shabbat Chairs will focus on enhancing the quality of Chabad’s weekly Shabbat Dinners. They will be encouraged to implement regular themed Shabbat Dinners and develop ways of marketing and promoting Shabbat Dinners.

Shabbat Chairs will also help with coordinating volunteers to help with Shabbat preparations.

 

 

Jewish Education Chairs (2 Positions Available)

 

The Jewish Education Chairs will work on further advancing Chabad’s weekly torah classes, like Peace and Pizza and Sinai Scholars. They will also be encouraged to create new periodic workshops, lectures and events to provide educational opportunities for UCI students on Jewish and Israel related topics.

 

 

Social Action Chairs (2 Positions Available)

 

Social Action chairs will oversee JACK (Jewish Acts of Care and Kindness) – Chabad at UCI’s Social Action Arm. They will spearhead Chabad’s ongoing and seasonal Mitzvah Projects like weekly visits to the Senior Home, Toy Drive and Challah Bake Sales. Social Action Chairs will also have the opportunity to create new Tzedaka Projects.

 

 

Social and Special Events Chairs (2 Positions Available)

 

Social and Special Events Chairs will grow and further develop regular social events at the Chabad House. They will work on monthly social barbeques, game nights and other fun activities. Social and Special Event Chairs will also have the ability to add and enhance Chabad’s list of special events like Sukkah Hop and Purim parties.
